Semester #2 Post #1

Hey guys, I hope that everyone is having a fantastic 2015. For this blog I will be talking to you about The Hobbit written by J.R.R. Tolkien. All I have to say upfront is that this book isn't the greatest book I've read, but some of you who like to read such stories about dragons, dwarves, etc. might enjoy it. Most of you probably read this book in 7th grade so you don't need a summary but if you didn't like then click on this link

CONSISTS OF SOME SPOILERS!

The main reason why I wouldn't give this 5 stars was because of the ending. Bilbo Baggins and gang go on the journey to slay a dragon a regain power over a kingdom but     it wasn't even a single person in that group of underdogs that actually even laid finger on the dragon. It was just a poor man living in the nearby town getting a lucky shot with a lucky arrow.

When I started to read the book I thought that once the dragon was slain then everything would go back to normal, but nooooooo all of a sudden as time passed by accusations were made and thoughts of war against the dwarves and villages occur.

Even though I think that the ending didn't flow with the beginning I think this could lead to a possible theme to the book, that theme being: greed can kill. The reason why is because of Thorin and the other dwarves wanting all that gold and the Arkenstone so bad that is caused them to kill countless people.

Overall this is what I wanted to tell you as my readers about this book but don't allow this to change your mind about The Hobbit  if you want to read by all means go ahead and read. See you next time.
